It is with great sadness that the family of Carlos Lemos announces his passing on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the age of 84 years. Carlos was born on September 2, 1933 in the city of Manila, Philippines. He was the second oldest of 7 children.
In the early 1960’s, he supported his young family by training under the tutelage of Francisco V. Coching (Philippine National Artist) and eventually made a name for himself in the comic book industry in Manila.
He moved to California in his late 50s where he was able to resume his passion for drawing working for Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers, Hanna Barbera and New World Animation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marciana Lemos; along with four children; Gil, Nando (deceased), Laila, Jay; 10 grandchildren; Gary, Mitch, Mark, Katrina, Jeff, Kristine, Kim, Patricia, Apol, Ayee; 2 great grandchildren; Kiera Editha, Brandon Grey; and many other loving relatives.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Mortuary on 10333 East Alondra Blvd, Bellflower, CA 90706. Friends may visit with the family during those hours.
A mass will be celebrated in his memory on Tuesday, March 27, at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 14815 Paramount Blvd, Paramount, CA 90723.
