Biography

Pedro Elemen grew up in the town of San Antonio, province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines where he met his wife Aurora and had 6 children. They spent their early years together raising their children and tending to their farm in the Philippines, they were referred to as Ama and Inang by family and friends. Pedro spent his life working and providing for his family. He was a simple man who worked hard with his hands in different parts of California and Alaska. He would collect seeds in hope of planting them and watching them grow. He was very passionate when it came to tending to his garden, he would teach us about what kind of plant it is, how to properly take care of it, and what was special about them.

When he was not tending to his garden, He loved to spend his free time caring for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He made sure everyone was well taken care of before tending to himself. When he was alone you could always find him with his feet up, watching TFC or listening to his cassette tapes with the volume on blast appreciating the simple things as he enjoyed life knowing that we were near. He could spend hours in the backyard enjoying the weather for hours. He found great joy being surrounded by his family and friends, no matter the occasion he always had a bright smile on his face and you could see the joy in his eyes. He traveled to different places and always had a project in mind for example a large branch that he found at Fort Bragg in Northern California, he took that and carved it into a cane. He lived a wonderful life and now he is at rest with our Inang.
