Clell Vernon Sullenger
February 20, 1937 – January 27, 2019
Vernon Sullenger, 81 of Belton, MO died January 27, 2019 in his home.
He was born February 20, 1937 to Alma (Johnson) Sullenger and Noel Sullenger in Taneyville, MO.
He started his education at Lone Pilgrim School in Taney County, MO, from there he went to Taneyville going on to graduate from high school at School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO, he also attended one year of college there.
He married Ginger Sloan in 1957 and moved to Kansas City, MO. They had two daughters, Bethelena Sue and Venessa Jane.
He worked in the Kansas City area in the grocery business for 47 years as a grocery manager and buyer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening, he also loved to sketch and paint. He was a fan of Kansas City Chiefs football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two older brothers, Stanley and Ranzy, sons in law Bryon Porter and John Mills, and his long time companion Bonnie Bellante.
Vernon is survived by his daughters, Sue Porter of Buffalo, MO, Venessa Mills of Ava, MO, brother Richard Sullenger and wife Rhonda of Taneyville, MO, four granddaughters, four great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other family.
Services will be held at a later date in Forsyth, MO with burial to be in Dickens Cemetery, Taneyville, MO.
