Diane Lynn Shastid (65) passed away August 25, 2020, at her home in Rogers, Arkansas. Diane was born in Fallbrook, California on January 23, 1955, to Ray Bonser and Cherry Bonser (South). Her parents preceded her in death. Diane is survived by her husband of 29 years Dale Shastid and her sister Rae Ann Haak (Bonser). She was an adored mom to her four children, Andrew Albers, Ray Shastid, Carrie Shastid and Michael Shastid, as well as a beloved “memaw” to her five grandchildren-Alexis, Colby, Cassie, Jacob & Taylor. Diane graduated Orange High School (CA) in 1973 and started working full time while raising her family. Diane and her family eventually moved to Arkansas in 1991. Diane worked and cherished her job for the City of Bentonville for 26 years, retiring in 2017. Diane loved Disneyland from her many visits with friends and family while living in California, with Mickey Mouse being a standard around the house for decorations. Diane loved her family the most, planning numerous family gatherings, birthday events for family and friends, and holidays to ensure everyone came together. She became a mom to everyone she came in contact with. Her smile and laughs in everything she did were contagious. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Callision-Lough, with the burial to follow in Bentonville Cemetery.

Diane, My heart is breaking that you are no longer with us. We have been friends for over 55 years and I am thankful for every minute. We laughed, we cried, we laughed and we had fun making memories. We loved spending time together whenever we could and the Disneyland memories will live on forever. I love you, my sister from another mother and My prayers are with the whole family. Until we see each other again, you will be forever in my heart. Love you Diane, Kathy

Although I am not family, every time I attended an event, she always treated me like I was. Always thanked me for being there and made me feel so welcome. You will be missed. See you again someday. I know you are watching over all of us now.
With love,
Jess

It is really hard to figure out where to start. Diane was such an awesome lady. The love she showed everyone around her is impossible to put into words. There was never a birthday forgotten. Working at the city wasn't just a job for Diane. She took pride in so many things. One thing Diane did at the city was send out taxi coupons. She took the time to put personalized cards, like Christmas cards in with the taxi coupons also. I never knew a lady who could smile as much as Diane. No matter what was going on in her life she had a smile and a laugh to follow. I have to say I liked to tease Diane by telling her I was always going to bring her a smiley face balloons. For those that know know she didn't like the yellow smiley face. I know I will miss her hugs. Love you Diane.
