Eugene “Gene” Rossiter Watters, age 89, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Spanish Cove in Yukon. He was born June 22, 1931 in Ft. Worth, TX and was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. Gene served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War, serving in Germany. He also attended Texas Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after about thirty years of service as a procurement specialist. Gene loved to bowl, dance, and other social activities. Mostly, he loved to play Bridge and was an ACBL certified director. He also liked yoga and meditation as well as reading John Grisham novels. He had deep political convictions and many times spoke what was in his heart. Gene was active in Spanish Cove, getting involved with the dragon boat races at the Oklahoma River and going to Happy Hour every Friday afternoon.His is survived by his brother, Walker Watters of Jackson, MS.; sons, Paul and Keith Watters of Edmond, OK.; and 2 grandsons, James Allan and Daniel Austin. Private family services will be held.
