Leo E. Lewis

Leo Earl Lewis was born Aug 14, 1920 in Cisco, TX. He went to be with the Lord on Jan 26, 2013 in Claremore, OK where he lived in the Veterans Center.

He was the youngest son of Albert Lewis and Viola Crawford. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife E Joyce Robertson Lewis of 61 years. He is survived by sons Robert Lewis (Arlene) of Bethany, Larry Lewis (Darlene) of Huntsville, AL and daughter Linda Sims of Crosby, TX. He had 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He grew up in McAlester, OK but spent most of his adult life in Oklahoma City and Bethany.

He and Joyce attended Council Road Baptist Church for 30 years where they made many dear friends. He was in the Army Air Corps during WWII and served with the 45th Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict where he earned the rank of MSgt. He retired from Catlin Aviation after 30 years where he was the Service Manager.

After retirement he became active with the Lions Club and became an avid golfer. He loved flying and especially loved giving grandchildren and nephews their first airplane rides. He also dearly loved cooking for his grandchildren.

Services will be at Bill Merritt Funeral Home on Tues at 2:00pm.
