Christina Crandell

November 5, 2019

I am Gayle's 1st Grandchild. Christina Billing Crandell. I am ubable to attend her funeral for financial reasons. So my dad suggested I leave some memories here. I posted a tribute to my grandmother on my facebook page that was just filled with memories I have from my childhood and adult life. Prior to doing this and letting these emotions out. I was having trouble sleeping. I still feel horrible that I can't attend her funeral. But I can share some of the things here that I posted on my Facebook page for those that may read this. Some things we used to do together that I loved. Like listening to her sing me You are my Sunshine. Stroke my face and say " Eye Eye Christy" I still do to this day with my own daughter. The memories I have growing up are endless. But some specific ones I put on my page were. Her yellow silk pillow case that she slept on because it didn't mess up her hair when she had her curlers in. Which were a kind of Velcro material so I used to just stick them all over my head trying to imitate her. Going through her jewelry box and playing with her clip on earrings. Trips to Ronald McDonald Land and the park on the prairie path. Baking cookies and picking strawberries in her yard. Listening to stories about my dad as a child as well as her own childhood. That I heard a hundred times but it didn't matter to me I still wanted her to tell them. Hearing ALL the time how special it was to her that she took care of me when I was only a few weeks old because my mom had her gall bladder removed. Everyone has that one person in their family that they are very close too. That is very special to them. She has been that person for me ever since I was a very tiny little girl. She will be missed terribly. She would tell me stories about heaven when I was little and how beautiful she thought it was. Well heaven is a lot more beautiful now that she's there. Until we meet again Grandma we Love you!
