Donald is preceded in death by his mother Florence Vernon and Arthur Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Vernon; his son, Vashawn (Tina) Vernon; step-sons, Stephen Adams, Darren Adams; his step-daughter, Cynthia Martinez; and his grandchildren, Holley Vernon, Avery Martinez, Calvin Martinez and Allie Martinez.
