Eleanor Ann Sandlin (Kyzer), 78, of Birmingham, AL passed away peacefully on March 19, 2018. She was born to the late Theron Carpenter and Rhoda Gayle Kyzer in Abernant, AL. Eleanor was preceded in passing by her husband of over 25 years, Walter Allen Sandlin Sr. and her brother, Bobby Max Kyzer. She is survived by her sons Chip Sandlin Jr. (Stacy) and Matt Sandlin (Szilvia); her grandchildren, who referred to her as "Granny Ann," Jessie Sandlin, Kacy Lewis (Cameron), Matt Sandlin Jr., and Alex Sandlin; great-granddaughter Pepper Jo Sandlin; and a multitude of cousins and other relatives and friends.
Eleanor loved to bowl. She was an active member of the Tuesday morning and Tuesday evening bowling leagues at Spare Time in Trussville. She loved the outdoors, bird watching, tending her yard, and fishing. She worked for many years at Blue Cross & Blue Shield. After retiring, she attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser. Eleanor was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 24 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. Graveside Service will follow at 12:30 pm at Highland Memorial Gardens, 3115 18th Ave. N, Bessemer, AL 35020.
