Orlean Elizabeth Hurt was called to be with her Savior on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2021. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years James C. Hurt; her loving and devoted daughter and husband Cecilia Valentine and Clarence Sanders; her loving and devoted son and wife Raymond and Shekinah Lawrence; her three grandchildren Cameron Armaud Ellison, Alyzabeth Marie Ellison, and Mason Ignatious Lawrence; her seven brothers Eric Wade, Clarence Quilter, Rennie Rhaburn, Oruin Wade, Arthuro Wade, Eldon Wade, and Landis Wade; her five sisters Teresita Wade Adolphus, Darlene Wade Swift, Winnie Wade Gillett, Violet Wade Gladden, and Ivy Wade Bonner; along with dear nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, sisters-in law, and brothers-in law and beloved pets Chloe and Make It She was preceded in death by her mother Milicent Valentine Wade and her father Alden Wade. Orlean was a strong and beautiful woman who loved life to the fullest. She devoted her life to her husband and children and building her nest. She was born in Crooked Tree, Belize in 1954, and came to the United States in 1968 where she built a life of success as a Hotel Manager in the hospitality industry. She met a Soldier, Sergeant James C. Hurt, in 1982, in Los Angeles, California, and they married in Santa Barbara California. She traveled the world as a US Army wife with her husband and children for many years. Moving from California, Indiana. Michigan, and finally settling in Birmingham, Alabama where she built her nest in . The love, strength, and beautiful essence of her spirit will always be cherished by her family and friends.
