Ruth was loved by so many. She was a devoted, loving wife, and considered her marriage to her husband to be the happiest moment of her life and that happiness continued until the moment Heaven called her home. She was also a loving mother to her three children, as well as other nieces and nephews who had lost a parent, throughout her life. She had a servant’s heart and was always so grateful for every little kindness. Ruth was always feeding family, friends and often neighbors her awesome cooking, whether traditional German food or southern cooking. Cooking was always an extension of her love for people. She always cared for friends and family, especially in times of need, making everyone feel welcome and loved. She enjoyed and was extremely talented in crocheting and made many beautiful things throughout her lifetime. She was never idle, and was always working at something. She leaves a family grateful for her love and goodness and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. There will be a graveside service at Cook Springs Cemetery on Friday, November 6, 2020 beginning at 2 PM (masks are required). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, which Ruth always supported.
