David passed away from natural causes at his home in Ann Arbor on April 6, 2020.
Pete, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was born in Pontiac, Michigan on December 14, 1944, to Nancy and George Petroff. He was the oldest son of five siblings: Eleanor, Kathy, Carol, George and Paul.
Pete married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Racine, served proudly in Vietnam with the United States Navy, raised two sons, Nick and Joe, and spent his working years in the Automotive and Machining industries as a Quality Control Inspector.
In addition to spending time with his family, Pete enjoyed his later years organizing reunions for his 1962 graduating class of Pontiac High School, volunteering for the American Cancer Society (a cancer survivor for many years, himself), and baking delicious pies.
Pete is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; his son, Nick and wife Lisa and children Eva and Kai; his son Joe and wife Kristi and children Anthony and Katryna; and his adored dog and cat, Sadie and Sam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to the American Cancer Society.
