Agnes (Aggie) Rousey, 87, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 9:19 p.m. at Advocate BroMenn in Normal. She was born April 14, 1931 in Bloomington, the daughter of Harold Jackson and Mary Margaret Quinn Hall. She married Fred Rousey on February 7, 1948 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Aggie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. She retired from Eureka in 1992. Nothing meant more to Aggie than her large family of kids, grandkids, great grandkids, great great grandkids, and her beloved dogs.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Cindy) Rousey and Larry (Kate) Rousey, both of Bloomington; two daughters, Mary Jo (Jim) Bryant of Richmond, Virginia; and Kathy (Steve) Mintus of Bloomington; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and her favorite dog, Poppy.
She is preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers Aggie had over the past six years, as well as the caring, professional staff at Advocate BroMenn whose tender touch made her end so much more bearable.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington.
