After living his childhood in Elmont, Long Island he enlisted in the US Army and was in WW II for six years, serving under Patton in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany and Austria. Al worked for Edwin B. Stimpson and Company in Brooklyn and then moved with the company to South Florida in 1968 and settled in North Lauderdale. He retired in 1992 working for Stimpson for 36 years. Then he and Katie moved to Boynton Beach to relax out their senior years and spend time with their friends and family and weekends at the beach, which they both loved to do since leaving Coney Island.

He leaves three children Edward, Linda and Frank Laurenzano and his brother, Frank Lorenzo and wife, Rita Lorenzo. Al’s wife Katie of 57 years passed in 2005 whom he dearly missed. Al had five sisters, Frances, Eleanor, Mary, Grace and Theresa all who have preceded him in death and whom he loved dearly. He also had two younger siblings who died at a very early age.
