BENILDA “LIET” CAPIRAL ABRAJANO

How do you say goodbye to a woman who loved unselfishly, valued others profoundly, gave unconditionally and lived happily? She was simply as accomplished and graceful a human being as God has seen fit to create. Comfortable in her own skin and with her own nature, Liet was able to open her arms to the world.

Benilda was born on August 5, 1962 in Meycauayan Bulacan Philippines. A third among five children of Benjamin Capiral and Milagros Liongson (deceased) from Meycauayan Bulacan.

To The Abrajano family,

What a tremendous memorial service you had for Bea yesterday. The words spoken were such a reflection of who Bea was. I couldn't help but cry and reminisce all the good times I spent with her as a colleague and as a friend.
During her many years at Bayview and Paradise Valley Hospital, her dedication and selfless nature was something we will always remember. She was someone who any supervisor wishes of having in the workplace, and she's the person that eveyone in our department loves working with. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was one of the most generous and caring person I've known. The personal touches are perhaps what I recall most fondly about Bea. The way she would greet each patient as if welcoming them to her home, and then congratulating them on their recovery as they were discharged. How she decorated and organized the nurses' lounge with cheerful colors, table decor and throw pillows, so that her co-workers would have a pleasant place for their meals. She was so happy to bring in food she had cooked or fruits and vegetables from her garden to share with her fellow nurses and staff. I am warmed by the memories of Bea offering a kind word, a hug, or a smile to those who needed them. She was always quick to give encouragement and comfort. A real team player, always willing to help out in anyway she can.
Bea will be greatly missed and forever she will remain in our hearts.

I have had the pleasure of working with Bea as one of her nursing supervisors at Sharp Grossmont Hospital Behavioral Health Services. Bea was a highly valued team member and everyone looked forward to the days she was on duty. Bea was always calm, caring, and compassionate. She provided a caring welcome to distressed patients on admission and congratulated those who were leaving the unit. Bea could handle the most difficult, confused, and agitated patients with a kind smile and gentle hand. Bea always maintained an upbeat attitude and promoted positive thinking for both staff and patients. She would seek out patients' favorite music, games or special interests and bring in items to share and engage patients' attention. She received numerous care-grams from patients and peers stating how helpful, kind, and empathetic she was. Bea cared as much about her co-workers' health and well-being. She always remembered birthdays and other special days with a gift and offered hugs and assistance if anyone was troubled. She would bring in special treats created by Fred and keep us up to date on Tin-Tin's antics. We were blessed to have her as a teammate and a friend. Please know she will hold a special place in our hearts.

Tita Liet
