One of my favorite memories of Chris that I will cherish forever is wine tasting in the Temecula countryside recently. I am so thankful we got to share that experience before he passed on...he had just gotten to a point in his life where I knew he was truly happy. It was a perfect day spent with him and his loving wife Diana and my wonderful husband Edward. Chris always loved the countryside...he could have worked anywhere in the county, but he chose to work out in East San Diego County so his day would be full of beautiful mountains, trees, and undisturbed open areas in nature. I feel so glad and blessed that I got to spend some last moments with my brother in an area he was so fond of.

Chris and Diana had purchased a beautiful house not too long ago in a quiet community nestled in a wooded area of North-East County. They were going to build their life there with their two sons, Jacob and Tristan. I loved how they had completed so many amazing home projects together – Chris was very handy and a great match with his wife who loves to do crafts. They were even hand-making some neat art pieces like an abstract birdhouse tree that was personified with a face on its stump. How cool is that?! So cool. I liked that side about Chris…if you did not know him, you might think he was just a guy’s guy, which he was, but in addition he really appreciated things like art, philosophy, science, and science-fiction.

One of his most enduring qualities is that he loved and cared for his family so much and would do anything for them. Chris was a passionate person, a protector, and he was fearless. He was so strong...a light in our darkest moments...a rock to cling to when the grounds were unsteady. We love you Chris and we miss you so much. You will be forever in our hearts until we see each other again. Say hello to Sean, Muma, Grandpa, and Tia E for me.

What a huge loss. So much love and prayers going out to the Kozik family. No words can express the sorrow and hurt of loosing someone so dear. Chris was a loving, kind, hard working man that had so much passion for life. This world will be dimmer with out his light in everyone’s lives.
