Obituary of Leslie Ann Boldrick
Leslie Ann Boldrick, age 75 of Rancho San Diego, passed away January 13, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. Devoted and cherished wife of Ralph William (Bill) Boldrick. Loving daughter to La Rae Alice Luck and Guy Perry Luck (deceased), sister to Patsy (Becky) Gilmore (deceased) and mother to Julie Ann (Simons) Fisher. Treasured grandmother of Jack and Sophia (Sophie) Fisher. Leslie Ann Luck was born at Mercy Hospital, San Diego December 1, 1947. Growing up in Spring Valley, Leslie attended Bancroft Elementary School and Mt. Miguel High School, where she was thrilled to be named a lieutenant in the Cadence Corps. An avid tennis player, Leslie ranked 9th in San Diego County in the under 13 age category. Leslie married her high school sweetheart at the age of 19, Donald Eugene Simons, and they had a daughter together, Julie. During this time Leslie earned a lifetime teaching credential and started a career in teaching, school front office work, and financial aid work at PLNU. Leslie was a devoted grandmother to Jack and Sophie who currently attend college at George Washington University in Washington, DC and Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. After many years of being single, Leslie met the love of her life, Bill, at Skyline’s Church’s “Other Group.” They married July 11, 1987 at Trinity Presbyterian Church and established a home in Rancho San Diego. Bill and Leslie loved to have a major yearly vacation each year. They widely travelled the American West, the East Coast and Canada. Early in their marriage they traveled by car across the eastern Canadian provinces, and in 2014, took the VIA Canadian passenger train from Vancouver to Toronto in a vintage sleeping car cabin, crossing the Canadian Shield, a true wilderness. Since 1997, Bill and Leslie have been ushers at Skyline where they have been members for 35 years. In retirement both of them loved to volunteer weekly at Turning Point Ministries for Dr. David Jeremiah, finding it a real blessing. Leslie dearly loved Bible Study Fellowship in retirement and over the years, prepared meals for shut-ins at Skyline and volunteered for children’s Sunday School. Leslie passed away suddenly from aggressive brain cancer. Her kind heart, gentle spirit and warm smile will be sadly missed by family and friends. Leslie’s Celebration of Life will be held February 13 at 11:00 am at Skyline Church, La Mesa.
