Boulder, Colorado. He started his life building rafts on the Mississippi River and accomplished
his goal of returning to the Rockies with his adoring wife of 50 years, Sandra Sims Millspaugh.
Dave was a consummate builder, prankster, and outdoorsman, but would like to be remembered
in particular as a provoker of mooses, a damn fine race-car driver, a stalwart and loving
husband, and a level-headed father who always prioritized his children's happiness. He is
survived by his wife Sandy; his children Tammy Gransee (m. Henry Gransee), Christy Tucker,
Jake Millspaugh (m. Kathleen Feehan Millspaugh), and Scott Millspaugh; his brother Jim
Millspaugh (m. Sandra G. Millspaugh); his grandchildren Eric Bird (m. Abby Stevens Bird),
Katerina Tucker, Chase Tucker, Jonathan Bird, Henry Millspaugh, and an as-yet unnamed baby
Millspaugh boy to be; and his great-grandchildren Silas Tucker, Ethan Bird, and Clayton Tucker.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Mildred Millspaugh; his brothers Doug, Bob,
and Jerry Millspaugh; his son-in-law Clay Tucker; and his great-grandson, baby Kaden Tucker.
Dave's ashes will be scattered in the beautiful places he loved in North Carolina, California, and
Colorado, and the family will celebrate his life in Fairview, North Carolina, next year when the
dogwoods are blooming. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Jacques
Cousteau Society, https://www.cousteau.org, which Dave proudly supported throughout his life.
