Ruby LaVaun Fulk grew up in Kansas working on the family farm, racing stock cars, working as a switchboard operator and an insurance adjuster. She moved to Boulder in the early fifties where she met Dutch and married him after two weeks.
She got a job as a secretary at Boulder High School and then The High Altitude Observatory. She typed so fast that she went into business for herself typing for CU professors, graduate students, and many others. Her family will remember how she made the comfiest comforters, cooked the best Sunday and holiday feasts, knitted, crocheted, and read many romance novels. She was a hard worker and excelled at many things.
Ruby died last Sunday at 94 leaving behind a beloved granddaughter Erinn who made sure she had the latest technology and who looked after her, a daughter Darla, a grandson, two other granddaughters and four great granddaughters. She will be buried alongside a daughter Carla and Dutch. RIP Grandma.
