I always enjoyed being around him, especially at the golf course. I also spent much time at the ice arena, disagreeing with his calls when he would send my son to the penalty box. Rest in peace old friend, may God welcome you home with open arms.

Tom and family,
We are so saddened to hear that your dad has passed. “Mr. Tobey”, aka Uncle Ben, was such a wonderfully kind and gentle man. So fun-loving and full of life was he. We both have such vivid memories: mine school- related and Phil’s, athletic-related. Your dad could turn any situation into something positive.
We both wish you and your family much comfort, peace, and many happy memories of him to get you through this difficult time. Our thoughts, prayers, and healing hugs are with you all.

I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Tobey from youth hockey. He coached with my father Gerry Dineen and at one point coached me. The one thing he used to say when his team scored a goal ill never forget and still say it to this day. I'm sure all that knew him through youth hockey will remember it also. The word was
"BOOMSUCKAH" Thanks for all the great memories with that huge laugh and smile.

So sorry for your loss Benny and Tommy and all of your family. I believe I knew your dad since I was six-years-old. He was always "SO NICE"! I also remember your mom waved out the door to you every morning when the school bus arrived. Alden Ave, last house on the left? I know Michael knew your dad as a golfer friend. Michael and I am so very sorry for your loss. We send you love, prayers and good memories!

What a great “GENTLE “man. I will always remember lunchtime at Cody Jr High and the “souper burgers” that Mr Tobey convinced we were good for me and I couldn’t have any dessert until I finished it. My deepest condolences to the family.
