Oh my this is so hard to believe, John was such a sweet guy, couple three years ago, maybe longer. My hydrangea bush was going wild, and I had seen what a great job he had done with the one at their house, tying it up. So he came and tied mine. He did a great job, as the twine he put around it, it is still there holding it in place. John will be missed in so many ways.
Marie, and all the family will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. Marie, and all the family will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.

John always had a smile and kind word - often seeming to want to make me laugh. His friendly nature was refreshing during crunch time, in preparation for school to start. And whatever he couldn't get done beforehand, he would assure me he'd be back as soon as he could - and he did. He will be missed. But I appreciate his service during the time we worked together.

It saddened me to receive the news that John has passed. But when you add to the statement that he has 'gone to be with the Lord', there is a solace in the glimpse God gives of one 'being with the Lord'. I didn't know John well; but well enough to feel a respect and appreciation for his presence. I am the art teacher at Holy Trinity. John would come in and build a shelf, a coat rack or install a wall cabinet in the art room when asked. He took great pride in his work. We would talk a bit (out of respect for one another) and he always held the same in demeanor: pleasant, respectful and diligent about his work. There was an air of humility that came with his presence, one that always urged me to be at my best... because a man of God was in the room.

My condolences to the family. May the peace of God and the fond memories you cherish comfort and sustain you in your time of need.

It saddens me to hear this news. I remember Johnnie well, spent many happy hours playing at the Benjamin house. Sending prayers to the family.
