Alice Antoinette Ankerson

Ankerson, Alice (Martel) Antoinette is now in the loving care of our Lord. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter Joseph Ankerson. She leaves behind her daughter, Rita A Barber (Ken) and many cherished nieces and nephews that brought her immense joy.

Alice was born in Millbury, MA on January 27, 1926 to Albert and Mary Lindsey Martel. She moved to Tampa, FL in 1968. She married Walt on Oct 5, 1974. She retired from Flanagan-Metcalf Engineering and then her real life began.

She was a devout Catholic parishioner with St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was an AVID bingo player and that’s putting it mildly! Every Monday night she would play at the Sons of Italy and then Tuesday nights at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. No appointments could be made for either of those days!

She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes.

If you were lucky to know her you would ALWAYS get a birthday card from her and even more special for some of us were her phone calls to sing Happy Birthday!

If you would like to make a charitable gift in lieu of flowers please consider supporting American Cancer Society/Making Strides against Breast Cancer.

Alice was one beautiful, thoughtful, special lady. She would always think of others. Always at bingo she would bring dessert for everyone... and for me because I was a diabetic she would bring a special sugar free dessert. She would always get all decked out for every holiday. We miss her but know she is in good hands. She was a true friend. 😥❤

Wonderful Aunt who was always full of Life. While we live far away, we have always felt close to her. We know that she has already yelled Bingo several times in Heaven.
