Louise was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and lived in Montgomery, Alabama before becoming a longtime resident in Miami and Lithia, Florida, where for the past several years she has lived with her daughter.
Louise was a remarkable woman of leadership and service. She became a Worthy Advisor of The International Order of the Rainbow Girls as a young woman, served as President of the Soroptimist International and the Business and Professional Woman’s Clubs in Montgomery, Alabama. She also was the Administrator and Principal of the McInnis School for Retarded Children in Montgomery wherein she was instrumental in building its campus. Throughout her entire life, she remained active in her communities and in her Church life. Louise also enjoyed painting, crafting and traveling the country with her late husband in their RV.
She was an amazing wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had a giving and loving spirit and was always willing to share her time, talents and wisdom with anyone. Louise always fought the good fight and never gave up in spite of any of life’s challenges that came her way. She faced them with humility, grace and real determination. She loved her family and friends, but most of all her God… She was truly blessed and enjoyed a passion for everything in life! She lived hard and always looked upward.
Louise will also be remembered for her love of Art and will give us all a smile each time we see a bright rainbow painted in the sky (even though it may not contain the color “burnt umber”)! She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. We take solace in knowing as a woman of great Faith, Louise is now at rest and that she has at last been set free.
Services will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, 120 Knights Ave., Brandon, Florida on September 28 at 1:30 pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Greenwood and Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Montgomery, AL.
