Robert Tom Albertsen
October 24, 1949 – April 15, 2018
Robert Thomas Albertsen (Tom) was granted his angel wings on Sunday April 15, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Bremerton WA on October 24, 1949, to Robert Harris Albertsen and Rose Ella Miller. He graduated from West High School in 1968. He then proceeded to do his general studies at Olympic College. He enlisted in the US Navy and served for four years as an Electricians Mate on the USS Seirra. When he was discharged from the Navy he completed the Marine Electrician Apprenticeship program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Later in his career he worked in planning and design. He retired in January 2007.
He was married to the love of his life Janet ‘JB’ Brojac on November 15, 1980 and was married for 37 years. Together they experienced some amazing adventures. They loved to travel and experience everything life had to offer. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking and camping. He always searched out the fun in the activity and brought his own personal spin on it. He loved his family and always made sure they knew it, through a crazy prank or a good joke. He was a very special person and will be dearly missed.
He was survived by his wife JB, son Jeff Albertsen, his brother John Albertsen, Sisters Anne and Sandi Albertsen, his four Nieces, Amy Bradley, Marci Velasco, Angela Engle & Taylor Stonack, and his Nephew Christopher Albertsen. He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday April 26th at 11:00am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, in Bremerton WA. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 10:30am prior to the service. There will be a reception directly following.
