A sweet (yet tough) and loving mother, grandmother, and friend, she blessed the lives of all who knew her. Joyce leaves behind her loving family: beloved husband Michael; sons Mike (Barri-Lynn) and his daughter Morgan Castorena (Austin); Jim (Annie) and their children Hannah, Sarah, Eve, and Matthew Graziadei; and Geoff (Kristen).
Born August 17, 1933 in New Hartford, New York to Daniel and Grace Moore, Joyce Enor Moore enjoyed her close circle of family and friends. She met the love of her life during their junior year in high school. Joyce and Mike courted for 7 years before marrying on July 13, 1957 in Utica, NY. They started their family in Fayetteville, NY before Mike’s career led them from Syracuse to Boston and later to Pleasanton, CA.
They enjoyed a wonderful life, blessed with great friends and summers in the Adirondack Mountains and later in Lake Tahoe. Joyce loved to cook for her 3 boys and follow their school and extracurricular pursuits. She especially enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant at Foothill High School in Pleasanton where Jim and Geoff attended.
After raising their children and actively guiding them through college and various pursuits, Joyce and Mike relocated to the Summerset retirement community in Brentwood, CA where they enjoyed an active social calendar including traveling with Mike to shows with his Summerset Big Band. Beloved wife of 65 years, devoted mother, adored grandmother, and treasured friend, Joyce dedicated her life to her family.
Her generous, fun-loving spirit, sweet laugh and gracious nature will be enormously missed. Her love of family and life inspired all whose lives she touched. We will honor her memory through our continued love for each other, our families, our friends and our faith.
A Funeral Mass will be held on August 5th at 10:30am, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Ave., Pleasanton, CA.
The family gratefully asks that memorial donations in Joyce's memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
