Claire Thérèse Dumornay

Mrs. Claire Thérèse Dumornay was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti on October 17, 1941. She entered Heaven’s gates on March 12, 2020. She married Robert Pierre in April 24, 1965 at St Thérèse Chapel; and they lived together in Haiti for eighteen years before relocating to the United States (Maryland). Robert left Haiti in 1983 to get established and make away for his family. In 1986 Claire left Haiti to join her husband with their five children. Claire was known to family and friends as” Tètè”. She was an educator who taught cotillion classes, she was a seamstress and a certified nurse supervisor. Claire was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays and birthdays. She was the ideal friend for those who knew her, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Tètè’s passion and delight. She was charitable, religious and continuously protected and provided for her three brothers, Felix, Fritz, Claude and two sisters, Arnouze “A” and Sansionnise “ Sionne”. Claire was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories. Her daughter Tite Soeur, lovingly cared for her for the last 16 years of her life. As her health declined, she often repeated the quote… “when I die, don’t cry for me but celebrate my life”. The family gives everyone else who cared for Te’te’ their greatest and warmest gratitude.

Claire Thérèse Dumornay was predeceased by her parents, Ciceron Lacrète and Inormise Badio and her son, Macley Dumornay; She is survived by four sons and a daughter: Woodney Dumornay (Regine), Stanley Jude, Sidney and Sherley “Tite Soeur”; grandchildren: Zemira Israel (Bezaleel), Corey Matthew Soderberg, Reginald Woodney Dumornay, Rebecca Christiana Dumornay, Christina Sydney Dumornay, Darius Jovan Dumornay and Bradley Woody Dumornay; 24 nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
