He attended school in the District of Columbia and graduated from Cardoza High School. He later signed up to become a DC Firefighter but with the help of a long time friend and his son's mother, Christine Green, he was called and interviewed at the University of the District of Columbia, where he was hired and maintained his employment for 37 years, as a Shipping and Receiving Manager.
Following retirement, Irvin enjoyed playing golf and power walking around the Tidal Basin and Haines Point. He also enjoyed going to the mall and people watching. He was a real ladies man, yet enjoyed his quiet time listening to music and watching sports on television. He particularly enjoyed rooting for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys in this Redskins Nation. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Southwest Washington, for as long as his health would permit.
Irvin leaves the cherish his memory, his son Dearan Parson, 1 Sister Dorenna Jackson, 1 niece Jeannean Dunn, 2 Granddaughters, Grandnieces, a nephew and a host of may other loving relatives and friends.
