On September 29, 1930, James Alton Streeter was born to the union of the late Albert J. and Venessa L. Streeter in Greenville, North Carolina. He departed this life on July 21, 2021, at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
After several years of residing in Greenville, North Carolina the family relocated to Washington, D.C. He attended District of Columbia public schools, and graduated in the class of 1949, from Armstrong Technical High School. After graduating high school, James joined the United States Army, where he later served in the Korean War. Following the war, he joined the National Guard and began working for the Miles Glass Company. He retired from the National Guard after 30 years of service and retired from Miles Glass after 25 years.
He gave his life to Jesus Christ at an early age. James was loving and caring, giving time unselfishly to family and loved ones, at Christ House and Kairos.
He is predeceased by two sisters Ann Smith and Mary Myers. He leaves to mourn, his sister, Mrs. Virginia Taylor; one niece Miss Melody Myers; two Nephews, Mr. Michael Myers and Mr. Charles Taylor; two great nephews Charles Taylor jr. and Marquis Myers; three great nieces Michele Myers, Mikhalia Myers and Phoenix Taylor, and a host of relatives and friends.
