I'm sorry for your loss & being so late on responding to the obituary. I worked with Lewis at BFD I enjoyed it very much. He was a good firefighter and a great person. I considered him a friend of mine

Let me add my sincerest condolences to Lewis’s family.
As a child I treasured trips to his family’s feed and everything hardware store.
It was where everyone in the Powderly community of Birmingham could find or get repairs for just about anything. His father was the consummate example of customer service, he knew everyone and all of their children. They were the Lowe’s before Lowe’s or Home Depot were ever conceived.
Lewis sold me one of the old delivery trucks after they closed the store and I kept it for many years. An old dodge extended cab.
His Family business was a treasure to our community and we were sad to see it close down.
I am just one of the many that he touched in such a positive way.
We share your sorrow.
