Harriet was born in 1929 and lived to age 91. She was the mother of Mitchell Dean and his wife Carol Silver, Lori and her husband Howard Rosenblum, and was pre-deceased by her two daughters Joy Linda and Ellen Jean Silver early in life. She was the grandmother of six much loved grandchildren - Rachel Erin Silver, Zachary Aaron Silver and Benjamin Adam Silver, Daniel (Laura) Rosenblum, Andrew (Megan) Rosenblum, Jeremy (Mia) Rosenblum, and two great grandchildren - Charles Jack and Eleanor Tess Rosenblum. She was the daughter of the late Maurice Aaron and Stella (Esther) Krasner, sister of late brother Bernard (Phyllis) Krasner, and loved her Cocker Spaniel "Fiddle". She had many beloved cousins and relatives in the Boston and Providence areas who remained close to her throughout life.
She was born in Boston, grew up in Quincy, and spent her adult life in Newton Centre where she raised her family. She spent ten years devoted to her daughters, Joy and Ellen, with the help of her family and the community, with an outlook toward improving the quality of life for her two young daughters. She was a graduate of Woodward School for Girls in Quincy, MA and Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Music. Harriet was an accomplished concert pianist and piano teacher, as well as a season ticket holder to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a longtime member of the Museum of Fine Arts, Hadassah and ORT.
She was a passionate reader of all types of literature, and treasured her home at Nantasket Beach, and frequently took her children to Paragon Park where she enjoyed eating banana frozen custard. She took pride in managing her business and financial dealings independently and earned her real estate license later in life.
Harriet moved to Florida in 2011 where she spent the last ten years of her life living independently with her family.
Private funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1PM at the Temple Emeth Memorial Park in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
