

Sharlee M. Segal, 98, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her apartment in Needham. The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Mysel, Sharlee Segal grew up in Brookline. She graduated from Girls Latin and Wellesley College, class of 1941. Sharlee was happily married for 58 years to Boston labor lawyer Robert M. Segal, who died in 1999. In addition to raising two children, Sharlee was a long time administrative assistant to Harvard Professor Alex Inkeles. The Segals lived in Newton, Lincoln and Brookline and spent 22 glorious winters at their condo at Longboat Key, Florida.
Mrs. Segal is survived by a son, Terry Philip Segal of Gloucester, and a daughter, US District Court Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle of Washington, DC. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jessica Segal of San Francisco, Zach Segal of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Nikki Milberg of Chicago, Adam Segal of Washington DC, and Justin Huvelle of Bethesda, Maryland. Mrs. Segal had nine great grandchildren: Hazel, Luella, Pearl and Daisy Segal, Blake and Hank Milberg, Charlie and Lillian Jane Huvelle and Ester Segal-Funes.
