ADESSO, Francesco “Ciccio” on December 5, 2011. Proprietor of the famous “Ciccio’s “ pizzeria on Avenue U in Brooklyn. Francesco immigrated from Caggiano, Salerno, Italy in 1960 to pursue the American Dream. Francesco originally started in construction then later in the clothing industry, where he saved up money to open a pizzeria. He did so and named it Ciccio, his nickname. Frank was awarded the “Businessman of the Year” from Assemblyman William Colton as an appreciation of Frank’s selfless contributions to the neighborhood. He donated pizzas and sodas to a PS 216 function honoring war veterans, as well as to other local schools and organizations such as: PS 95, Our Lady of Grace, St. Simon & Jude and the Bensonhurst West End Community Council. Frank was the originator of the Sophia Loren Pizza and the Ciccio’s “Special.” He always had a special price for a slice for school kids. Frank had the spirit of always willing to help out with donations whenever he could. Frank leaves behind a beloved wife, Mary (nee: O’Rourke), Loving father of Nicholas Adesso and the late Robert Adesso. Step father of Suzanne Sypulski and Christine (Patrick) Diskin. Adoring grandfather of Arianna Adesso, Robert Adesso, Molly Diskin, Cristain Adesso and Hailey Adesso. Dear brother of Rosario, Catherine Valisena and the late Angelo.
