Olva was born January 13, 1937 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Alejandro and Juanita (Salinas) Alaniz. She was educated to speak, read and write English and Spanish and helped to interpret for people. She was active with church activities and volunteered as a voting judge during elections. Olva was a Human Rights Activist with Farm Labor Organization Committee (FLOC). May you have peace and be with grandpa and your daughters again. I will miss your laugh the most. I keep hearing it in my head over and over again. I'm going to miss you telling me about the bible and reminding me to go to church. You weren't just my grandmother, you were my communion teacher, God mother and my second mom. Grandpa and you had given me so many good memories. I will always love and miss you.
