Zelmar was born April 25, 1940 in Clarksville, Tennessee the son of the late Zelmar Ransom Holt and the late Clemmie Yates Holt. He was also preceded in death by his late wife, Renetta Faye Holt and a brother, Roger Eugene Holt.
Zelmar was a resident of Clarksville, TN before retiring in Brunswick, Georgia. He recently moved to Beaufort, South Carolina. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Grace Community Church of The Nazarene. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Zelmar retired with Trane as a machine operator. He loved spending time with his family. He always cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish Zelmar’s memories are his six daughters, Donna Woodward of Brunswick, GA, Lori Palo of Dublin, GA, Penny Sarver (Gordon) of Brunswick, GA, Deanne Wilson (Bud) of Clarksville, TN, Jennifer Delgado (Fernando) of Rockford, IL, and Lela Holt of San Marcos, TX; one son Bradley M. Cobb Sr. (Tetiana) of Beaufort, SC; one sister, Margie Ruth Evans of Clarksville, TN; also two brothers, Harry Preston Holt and M.F. Holt both of Clarksville, TN. Sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Zelmar was a man that never met a stranger. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed walking and watching westerns. Zelmar will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A memorial service to honor Zelmar’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Grace Community Church of The Nazarene in Brunswick, Georgia with Pastor Jason Peacock officiating.
