in 1942 at the age of 21 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1946. During his tenure in the
Navy, Charles served in the Pacific Fleet in WWII. After serving his country, he worked for Ford Motor
Co. for 30 years. After retiring, Charles moved with his wife Dorothy to Bryan, Tx. While living in Bryan,
Charles was an active member the St. Joseph Church and an Usher Club member for 18 years.
Additionally, he served as a member of the American Legion Post 159 and the VFW Post 4692.
Mr. Meyer is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gaylene and Mike Terry; granddaughter,
Shalon Lake; grandson, Brandon Dunphy; three great-grandchildren, Riyen, Dyllin and Delayni
Lake. He also leaves behind three brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Margaret Petroski , James and
Adrianna Petroski, and Frank and Arlene Petroski; sister and brothers-in-law, Delores Cox, Patricia and Jim VanWinkle, and Margaret and Bob Mcaughan.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Memorial Funeral
Chapel in Bryan. Memorial Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
