Kent was born January 6, 1949 to George & Joann Bickly in Hale Center, TX. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1967. After graduating, he attended college at South Plains College in Levelland, TX, then came back to Seymour to help his parents manage the family business, Bickly’s Department Store, for over 25 years.
He married the love of his life, Christy Jungman, on September 11, 1971 and had 4 children. In 1991, they left Seymour and moved to Snook, Texas where he worked for Union Pacific/Duke Energy as plant operator and mechanic. After moves with the company to San Angelo & Conroe, TX, he then retired in 2012.
Kent loved all sports & would referee high school football games. In his spare time, he loved playing golf, pitching horseshoes and woodworking in his shop. He would make furniture or build anything his family requested and could fix or repair anything. He was a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
He loved his family above all, instilled amazing family values and made sure everyone remained close. He never missed family events and adored his grandkids and great grandkids, known to them as Pop.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Joann Bickly, grandson Kaleb Hadenfeldt, brother Barry Brent Bickly and his mother and father-in-law, Alvin and Glenna Jungman.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christy Bickly, daughter & son-in-law, Krisann and Cordy Hadenfeldt of Hutto, TX, son & daughter-in-law, Craig and Adrienne Bickly of LaGrange, TX, daughter & son-in-law, Kim and Jason Ponzio of Bryan, TX and daughter and son-in-law, Kasey and Jay Pierson of Richmond, TX. Grandkids, Caitlyn Bononcini & husband Jeff, Tatum and Cade Bickly, JJ, Emma, Kolbe and Lucy Pierson, great grandkids, Lilly Kelly & Aurora Bononcini, sister and brother-in-law, Debby and Steve Dienna of Hendersonville, TN as well as numerous sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces and nephews
