Vickie died Saturday morning, March 17, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital in Lewisville, Texas near her daughter’s home where she lived for the past four months.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Entombment will follow at Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 with a 7:00 p.m. rosary service at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Vickie was born to Frances Anna and B.J. “Buck” Zubik on October 2, 1931 in Bryan, Texas and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she volunteered and participated in many events throughout the years. She married Jerry John Dusek on June 7, 1953 and they enjoyed a loving and compassionate marriage for 59 years, until his death in 2012. They raised one daughter. Vickie was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed many things. She and Jerry liked polka bands and dancing to it in their younger years. She also loved spending time with friends and family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially important to her. She was very generous and thoughtful and loved to send cards, letters, and small gifts to those close to her. She was also a very faithful pen pal to many. She loved having flowers in her yard to pick and look at. She will be missed by so many.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents, Frances Anna and B.J. "Buck" Zubik; husband, Jerry John Dusek; and a grandson Christopher A. Rodriguez.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Lynne and Chris Rodriguez of Highland Village, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Marie Dusek of Tyler, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez and wife Kate and their two boys Jack and Luke of Thornton, Colorado; April Robbins and husband Brandon and son Ethan of Fort Worth, Texas; Meagan Sovine and husband Andrew of Flatwoods, KY; and Collin Rodriguez of Highland Village, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she greatly loved.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Vickie was always smiling and looking for the neighborhood children to share candy and gifts at holidays.
My grandchildren fondly called her Miss Vickie and loved to visit her. She will certainly be missed.

My sympathies and God’s blessings and comfort to her sweet family.
