Dear June and family , 
Please accept our condolences for the loss of your beloved father.  We pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Joseph Chor Koo . Heavenly Father may we ask you to embrace the soul of Joseph Chor Koo  into your merciful arms  as YOU did bless and love him while on his earthly journey. O Lord, we pray for Eternal rest grant unto Joseph and let perpetual light shine upon him .  We praise You and love You Lord .  Amen 🙏🙏🙏

My dad worked as a Captain in restaurant. He went off working early in the morning and back very late at night. I seldom got the chance to talk with him and if I have to get his signature for my school examination reports, I have to put it on his table and hoping it been signed next morning. He occasionally brought back leftover bear boned roast-duck with all its skin and flesh already sliced off for their customers, but we still manage to cook it in congee, bony yet delicious. I remember at one time we went to a function organized by his restaurant and was surprised to see him singing on the stage. Everyone clapped and laughed joyfully showing their supports to their supervisor. Last year, we visited him in Canada and celebrated his 100th birthday. It was a memorial moment. Now my dad is in heaven with God, together with his mom and sister. He is always in our hearts and lives in our memories.

My dearest family, as we come together to bid farewell to grandpa, his remarkable century-long life journey speaks volumes of the legacy he leaves behind. Grandpa's baptism into the Catholic faith symbolized his commitment to spirituality and growth, and his eternal optimism and strength even into his final days.  It's inspiring to learn that he approached life with such grace, never complaining despite the challenges he may have faced. I have only known Grandpa when I joined the family 10 years ago.  During this time, I truly admired his resilience – he never seemed to allow life's challenges to dim his happy spirit.  His love for the simple pleasures of life, such as exploring the city, taking long walks outside, riding the bus, reading, and watching sports showcased his appreciation for the joys of nature and the beauty of everyday life. One of the most touching aspects of grandpa’s character was his modest love for his small great-grandchildren. His caring gestures, being in their company, always thinking of their happiness and offering to buy them gifts, shows the depth of his love and the joy he found in their presence.  Let us hold onto the countless memories we all shared with Grandpa. Although he may no longer walk among us, he will still guide and inspire us in our hearts forever in heaven.  He will deeply be missed.  Personally, I am feel very fortunate to have known him.  My deepest condolences to our family during this time as we say our goodbyes to grandpa. May God grant us strength and peace in the days ahead.
