Wally is survived and remembered by his devoted wife Edeltraud of 59 years, his 3 daughters, Elinor Hanschke (Edward), Brenda Unger, Corry VanGyzen and 1 Common Law Son-in-Law, Ken Gash, and 5 grandchildren, Kyla, Lucas and Mckenzie Hanschke, Claudia and Gabriealla VanGyzen, and many caring family and friends.
Wally was born in Filadelfia, Chaco, Paraguay. He had a successful career as a Denturist in Vancouver. He started his apprenticeship as a teenager in Asuncion, Paraguay and opened his own practice which he continued until his retirement in 1996. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and trips to the cabin.
A special “Thank you” to the medical staff of Richmond General Hospital who compassionately cared for Wally the last weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond General Hospital in his name.
A small family service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home, Burnaby, BC where his final resting place will be in the Grand Mausoleum.
