Yat-Fu Mak

March 1, 1933January 4, 2021

My Father was born in Guangzhou, China. He moved to Hong Kong when he was 19 years old and lived there 35 years. He was the oldest of 10 siblings, and most of his family lives in Hong Kong. He obtained his diploma in Architecture. He worked in Hong Kong as a Draftsman, when drawing was done by hand – he used a pen. He married Miu Yin and enjoyed their lives in Vancouver. They had one son – Anson, daughter-in-law Katherine, and two granddaughters. He came to Canada in 1992 and became a Canadian citizen. His granddaughter Vanessa, studying as pianist at UBC, sent a link for a concert that included her Grandpa and other residents to enjoy. Younger granddaughter, Vania is a figure skater; he loved to see her performance. Now he is in heaven with my Mother. Peace to my Parents.

You were the eldest branch of the family sheltering the young branches from wind and rain. Your honesty, plainness and diligence recorded the remarkable year-rings in our family tree through your whole life. RIP.
