Yoshiro Shoji passed away on July 22nd, 2021 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife, Akiko and is survived by his two sons Phillip (Bobbi-Jo), Yosh (Lana) and four grandsons, Dylan, Jacob, Rylan and Declan.
Yoshiro was born in Steveston, BC but grew up in the internment camp of Lemon Creek. After the war he went back to Japan where he met Akiko, his wife and love of his life. He dealt with a myriad of medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life and its challenges with a smile.
He enjoyed golf, karaoke and gambling. He never had to book a tee time since his regular foursome were always first to tee off. Sometimes at 5am. Some of his gambling highlights include winning a car at the PNE, a $10,000 jackpot in Vegas and numerous thousand dollar payouts at local casinos.
Yoshiro will be honored in a private ceremony with immediate family. Our apologies to those who would have liked to have participated. Due to COVID-19, we feel that a funeral would pose an unnecessary risk. Yoshiro will be dearly missed.
