We decided to have a small private ceremony with just family, as we all felt this was best given the circumstances and timing. My Aunt Tommye, Guerin and I were in the midst of arranging a move for her into a nearby assisted living facility when she suddenly died the day before Guerin and I were going to organize her things for the move. We were all so looking forward to spending time with her over the upcoming holidays, but it was not meant to be, as Debbie was so very sick and had stopped taking her medication because it made her so ill. She and I spoke on the phone the day before she passed, when she informed me that she wasn’t fearful about dying, and that she had given her heart to the Lord. She made requests about giving personal items to certain people, so I think she was at peace with it all and perhaps fearful she wouldn't live to see us again. We have honored her wishes and want her to be remembered for the good things she bestowed. Her sweet Daughter spread her ashes and we prayed and shared personal memories about her. We will forever miss her.

Dana, I was so sad to hear the news of Debbie's passing. She was so much fun as a tennis partner and we had some exciting matches. In her Junior year we even made it to State! You will be on my mind and in my heart. Praying for comfort for all her family and friends.

It is with a very heavy heart and a great deal of regret that I share the sad news that we lost my sister Debbie after a very difficult battle with metastatic breast cancer. We all thought she had more time, but it came like a thief in the night, way too soon. Please pray for our family in this great time of mourning. She is now in heaven with our Lord and family members we have lost, and thankfully, finally without pain.

We are saddened to learn of Debbie's passing. As I told Dana, we had lots of fun times together at Tami Leech's slumber parties and playing basketball. She was a great athlete, and always kept us laughing.... Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May good memories of times past help comfort you during the difficult days ahead. Sending our love to all.
