Leroy Ellett

August 28, 1926September 21, 2019

William Leroy Ellett passed away Saturday September 21, 2019. Leroy was born August 28, 1926 and was preceded in death by his wife Edna Mobolene Richards Ellett. Leroy and Mobie were known to take in and care for many children over the course of their married life, daughters Rene Mobley (husband Phil) of Dalhart, Hope Reyes of Killeen, Elizabeth Strmiska (husband James) of Chandler, AZ, Amanda Parker (husband David) of Burnet. Grandchildren Veluska Reyes, Garrison Strmiska, Josiah, Kayla and Elesha Parker, Jered, Bret and PJ Mobley and many more. Also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Richards Freeman of Marble Falls, and brother-in-law Billy Don Weaver of Burnet, and brother-in-law Roger Crowder of Burnet, sister-in-law Jane Richards of Georgetown. Plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Leroy spent most of his life in Burnet and has had several careers throughout his life, but he is mostly known for being a homebuilder. Leroy was a friend to anyone and everyone. One of the things that we will miss about Leroy is he always had a story. I wished he had written a book for all the stories that he told from childhood on up, he could definitely keep us laughing. Leroy and Mobie loved to dance! Leroy did not dance before he met Mobie and after that, they were always known to hit different cities throughout the week and weekend and dance until the clubs closed. Visitation will be held Wednesday September 25, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral service will be Thursday September 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Christian Worship Center at 879 RR 3404 Kingsland. Interment to follow at Burnet City Cemetery Care has been entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Condolences may be offered at www.clementswilcoxburnet.com

Oh, how I loved you, Brother-in-law. You and Mobie would have celebrated your 72 wedding anniversary Sept. 7...having married when I was five. You and I shared EVERYTHING and you were coherent when we visited last week. We remembered people who were in our lives during the 40's and 50's....so MANY memories! I spent many summers with you two and you trusted me to open and operate your little store with Mom Wallace. I was the first of 25 people (Mobie & I recounted) who lived with you prior to getting married. Many years you drove your boat and towed us all over various lakes...teaching us to ski, never losing your patience. You and my sister ministered to many troubled people never having biological or adopted children but touching so many souls.
God has you permanently now...our solace but still difficult. LOVE YOU FOREVER!

I will always remember how kind and sweet Leroy was! He was so helpful and full Of Jesus! I am sure Jesus welcomes him with a “ well done good a faithful servant enter into your rest”
He would laugh which helped other to laugh back at him! He was soft spoken man that you knew he knew Jesus!
Can not tell you all the good things about him but those that knew him knew he was a chosen one!
May the family rest and stay in peace knowing you will see him again!

My Dearest Unk ! There are too many fond memories to leave just one and I would not know where to start. I know where you are now and I am at peace because of many things you taught and shared with me and because Jesus is giving me peace. I Love you Unk. Please give Aunt Mob , Momma, and Jesus a hug for me.

I’ll miss Leroy’s kind heart and genuine concern that he graciously extended to friends and family. His love never ran out. He imparted wisdom through his stories growing up and having been in love with his wife for so many fond years. He made it easy to relate and connect to. He was a generous man and one of a kind and his memories will never fade. Rest (or dance) in heaven, Leroy.

I remember going to lunch many Sunday’s after church. Leroy was so supportive and encouraging to me during a very difficult time in my life. I will always be thankful for our friendship and mutual love of the Lord.

Prayers for all family and friends.
