December 29, 1934 – January 9, 2021
Wanda Lee Burrow of Midland, Texas and most recently Burnet, Texas went to the Lord January 9th, 2021 at 4:00 A.M. Wanda had just celebrated her 86th birthday when she became ill with the Covid virus. Mom passed away at The Oaks Nursing Center in Burnet, Texas. Wanda was born December 29th 1934 in Sonora, Texas. She attended High School in Sonora, and later became pen pals with a soldier serving in Korea. Wanda married that soldier, Albert L. Burrow, June 16th, 1953 in Sonora, Texas. Wanda and Al moved to Midland, Texas where Wanda became a loving wife and the mother of three daughters. Wanda loved nothing more than providing a loving home for her daughters, and cooking wonderful meals every day for her family. Wanda was preceded in death by her mother Della Mae Drennan , father Jessie Merriman, brother Rex Merriman, and sister Louis Voight. Wanda is survived by her daughters, Dina McCormick and her husband Jeff McCormick of Midland, Lisa Burrow and her spouse Rebecca Benton of Burnet, and Judy Greer and her husband Roy Wayne Greer of Midland and a beloved cousin, June Rose Lyles of Galveston. Wanda was also blessed with five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Wanda loved her family with a passion, and she loved all of her Chihuahuas throughout the years. She loved her home of Midland more than words can express and was blessed with the care of her daughters in her later years. Wanda moved to Burnet in July of 2019 and continued to be cared for by her family until she needed extensive care. Wanda’s family was blessed to find The Oaks Nursing Center where Wanda lived and was taken care of by the best of the best of caretakers. Our family would like to send a special thank you to Michael Foley, Teresa Ruddick, Anna Nielson, Patrick James, Dr. Mary, Dixie, Judi, Teresa, Renee, LeAnn, Amy, Callie, Jackie and all of the nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and support staff at The Oaks. We are deeply appreciative for all of the love and support that was given to Wanda during the pandemic. Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, Texas will provide Wanda with her final wishes of cremation, and due to the pandemic our family will not hold a memorial or funeral service. Should anyone wish to make a donation in Wanda’s honor, Wanda was an avid pet lover and donations can be made to her granddaughter’s rescue Cow Dog Rescue.

You were the best mom, ever! I always felt love and support from you, and I am blessed to have spent the last year and a half having you here in Burnet with me. I loved you with all I had to give and you will always have my heart. Enjoy a peaceful afterlife with the Lord, and I will see you when I get there. I love you, Momma.

Dina, Lisa and Judy: Just wanted you to know I have fond memories of hanging out at your house! My least favorite is your mom’s dog that would chase me out the front door as I was leaving! Funny dog, he never bothered me as I was coming in but I sure hated leaving your house! Your mom was a sweetheart to me! I know you will cherish the memories of your momma!
Love always, Tammy
