Ingrid Pagenkopf passed away peacefully at South Health Campus in Calgary, AB on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Ingrid was born and raised in Northern Germany, where, after graduation from school she trained and worked as a nurse. In 1965 she immigrated to Canada and married Hans Pagenkopf in Calgary, where they settled together to raise their family. Her devotion and commitment to her marriage and family, as a mother to her four children, and later as a grandmother was her defining characteristic. Ingrid is remembered for her sweet and caring nature, but also for her strength and unwavering support of her loved ones. She spent a great deal of time outdoors tending to the garden and caring for the songbirds in the natural environment of the family acreage, which she undertook with passion until her final days. Ingrid is survived by daughters Andrea (Bruce), and Christine (Darren); sons Paul (Karen), and Ralf (Whitney); 5 grandchildren, and many other members of the extended Pagenkopf family. She was predeceased by her husband Hans. A private funeral service for immediate family is being held and a celebration of life for family and friends will be planned in the coming months.

To the Pagenkopf family from the Black family. We are thinking of you all at this difficult time. I remember of meeting Hans & Ingrid many times on the recreation path way where we all walked each day. Stopping & talking, at first about the Lake but also of other things. Our love goes out to you all. The Blacks

So sad for your loss. Your mom was a lovely, gracious person - always welcoming and ready to visit. Her smile lit up her face and her giggle! I still can hear it. She will be missed. Much love to you all.
