Stanley Lawrence Martin

January 30, 1934November 4, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Stanley Martin, who left us peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2019 at the age of 85 years.

Stan was born in Montreal, Quebec on January 30, 1934 and grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick. Stan was a Korean War Veteran serving as front line infantry. During his lifetime he worked as a truck driver, fireman and a pipe fitter. He loved his family and was always there when you needed him and rarely showed up at your house empty handed, always wanting to give.

Stan will be lovingly remembered by his children; Cheryl (Jim), of Red Deer, Alberta, Derek (Lois) of Calgary, Alberta, Darlena of Malden, Massachusetts, USA, and Blake of Calgary, Alberta. He will also be greatly missed and remembered by his grandchildren; Krista, Tina, Shawn, Christopher and Jessica; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Freda; sisters Pearl, Alice, Theresa, Joyce; brothers Eldon and Frankie.

We wish to thank the staff at Carewest - Colonel Belcher in Calgary, Alberta, for the compassionate care given to our father in the last months of his life.

A private family service will be held.

Memorial donations in Stan’s name will be welcomed by the Calgary Poppy Fund.
