OBITUARY

Almerinda Cabral Cesar

September 29, 1921May 18, 2020

Almerinda Medeiros Cabral Cesar, born in Lagoa, Azores, Portugal, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the age of 98.

She was predeceased by her father Fancisco Medeiros Cabral and her mother Mariada Gloria as well as her husbands Manuel Augusto Cesar and Evaristo Sousa Camara. Predeceased by her son John Carlos Cesar. She is survived by her sons Jose Medeiros Cesar, Louis Alberto Medeiros Cesar, daughters Isilda Maria Cesar Medeiros and Maria Dos Anjos Cesar. Almerinda will be fondly remembered as a gentle, kind, devoted, loving and proud mother to her 5 children and a wonderful Vavo who had endless pride and love for her grandchildren Edwarda, Johnny, Liz, Gary, Anna, George, Bobby, Dianna ,Jason, Carrie, David, Christine. As well as great grandchildren Ophelia, Sebastian, Catherine, Eva, Cristiana, Joey, Nicholas,Michael, Vincent, Megan, Chris, Brianna and Lucas. Almerinda was proud of her Portuguese heritage and would love to tell the stories that contributed to her life. As a young girl, she longed to show her devotion to Christ and she wanted to become a Nun. She never strayed away from her faith and devotion to God. However, her path was to help her father on the family’s fruit farm, working in the fields, tending to her many younger siblings, and cooking and preparing daily meals for the farm hands. Almerinda was a strong, hardworking woman who immigrated to Toronto in 1964,to give her family a better life. she endured many struggles and hardships being in a new country, but she persevered for her family. Almerinda did many hard jobs in her life, from Apple farms to Tobacco Farms and she even worn-picked to provide. To add to her career, she spent long hours cutting men’s suit fabric in a factory. Almerinda possessed great sewing, knitting, and crocheting talents. They included beautiful beaded wedding gowns, tablecloths, and clothes. Almerinda had a large collection of dolls, which she lovingly called “her babies” and would make outfits for them for hours. Almerinda’s interests also included baking; we are going to miss her sweet bread and Portuguese pastries. Almerinda favourite expressions were always “I love everybody”, “I makes everything”, “don’t forget for me.” We can sincerely say.... we do, and we don’t. Rest In Peace, Almerinda.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be e-transferred to lou9310@icloud.com to help ease the cost of Almerinda’s headstone, and give her the final goodbye she deserves.

Vavo,

My heart is broken and you will be missed.

You were a loving, kind, sweet, funny and cheerful person. You laughed so easily and your smile lit up my heart.

Your sweet bread and crab was delicious. You loved shopping and watching you do so was a joy. You taught me to crochet and make silk flowers and I thank you.

May you rest in peace in heaven. I love you. I love you. I love you.
