OBITUARY

Richard Walter Schoop

May 20, 1957March 1, 2020

Suddenly, at his home in Cambridge, Ontario on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 in his 63rd year.

Much loved son of Calvin (2007) and Ruth Schoop and very treasured brother of Mary Lou White and Gary (Carol) Schoop. Cherished Uncle of Ryan (Misty) White and Jordan Schoop. Rick was a warm, giving and loving soul, much like his father. The kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Rick’s kitchen was always open to feed you a wonderful home cooked meal. He was known for his great passion of sports and had excelled at both hockey and baseball. Be sure Dad and Rick are knocking around the hockey stats right now. He will be profoundly missed by all that knew him.

At the family’s request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Rick....my little brother. So many wonderful memories. Playing table hockey and road hockey with him. Watching his hockey and ball games and so enjoying his talent and sportsmanship. So competitive , yet such a gentle and caring soul.

The three of us on Christmas mornings with new pajamas and joyful smiles. And thanks to mom and dad so many memories to cherish. The time has passed so quickly...and Rick has passed so soon. Too soon. He faced so many trials and difficulties yet always managed to rise above it all. Love you Rick, and miss you brother.

Hi Mary Lou,

Mom just told me yesterday about Rick. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. I have so many memories from childhood, him at your house as a young fella downstairs, drumming away on his drums, sitting watching hockey games in your living room, to years later, running into him at Food Basics and having a nice chat. ALWAYS saying hi with that huge smile of his. What a beautiful photo you picked of him. Just wanted to send lots ofmlove, and wishing you lots of strength to get through this difficult time. 💗 Love, Christine and Conrad.
