Born in Campbellton, NB on April 14th, 1937 and the son of the late Howard Firlotte and Irene Boudreau.
With the exception of 12 years spent in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Chatham, NB / Trenton, Ont / Arvida, Que.) Arnold and his wife Ann of 60 years lived in Campbellton.
The Campbellton Tigers of the 1970's played a big roll in his life ! In 1972, he was on the executive of the team's Canadian Hardy Cup Championship and in 1977 Arnold was the General Manager of the Tigers Hardy Cup Championship Team. Arnold was inducted into the NB Sports Hall of Fame and is a two time inductee into the Campbellton Sports Hall of Fame.
In 1983 Arnold was elected Mayor and prior to that sat as a City Counselor. By Profession Arnold was an Insurance Adjuster. He was extremely active in the community and sat on numerous boards, commissions and was a proud member of the Legion and the Lions Club. Volunteering was important to him and later in his life he enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels and calling Bingo at the Villa.
Arnold loved hunting and fishing and as a result our family and friends enjoyed many Salmon dinners at the Trailer !
He will be sadly missed by his wife Ann, daughter Stacy, son Steven and granddaughter Emma-Jane. Arnold is survived by his sister Corinne of Sarnia, Ontario, Mike of Campbellton, several nieces and nephews and predeceased by his sister Doris, Brother Raymond and grandson Joshua.
A " Celebration of Life " will be held at the Campbellton Civic Centre Conference Room on July 24th commencing at 2:00 pm for family and friends.
Visitation at Maher's Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Friday July 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00.
Donations can be made to the Campbellton Nursing Home.
