He was a resident of Campbellton, NB, formerly of Fleurant Point, QC.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Shelley Ann, and by his wife,
Wanda Gaudin.
Born in Fleurant Point, Que. on August 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Albert Keays and the late Olive Dumville.
He spent the majority of his life farming and fishing. He had a great interest in people and keeping up with current events. He was also an avid Montreal Canadian’s fan.
Merle is survived by his son Curtis (Line), his daughter Sherri, his five grandchildren, Melanie, Monica, Melissa, Melinda, Frederick and their partners; his great grandchildren, Logan, Madelyn, Jameson, and Kayden. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Dickie of Riverview, NB, nieces and nephews, as well as many other family and friends. He also leaves to mourn his very special companion, Jacqueline Bouchard.
A funeral Services will be held on Friday May 20, at 11 am at Maher's Chapel in Campbellton.
Visitations will take place at Maher's Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne Street in Campbellton, Thursday, May 19, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm and on Friday in the Chapel at 64 Lansdowne St. 10am until the time of service.
